For people with no history of gum tissue infection, every six months should be fine unless your dentist recommends more frequent cleanings. Examples of people that may need cleaning every 3-4 months are: patients with history of gum tissue infection, physical disability that makes it difficult to take care of their teeth properly or patients in orthodontic treatment.
Tooth decay is caused from certain bacteria that adheres to the surface of the tooth. When the bacteria has sugars available to eat it produces an acid that can dissolve the enamel and a cavity can form.
For most people, twice a day is fine. Once after breakfast and once before you go to bed. Keep in mind, your diet during the day can affect how often you need to brush. If you snack in between meals on sugary food or drinks you may need to brush more often. If it is difficult to brush during the day you can chew gum that contains xylitol as a sweetener. Xylitol is a sweetener that does not ferment so it does not produce acids that harm teeth.
Brush at least twice a day and floss once a day. Stay away from sugary food and drinks in between meals.
For most people every 3 months. Once the tips of the bristles start to bend its time to replace. Same thing if you use an electric toothbrush.
Yes. It is very important to have checkups at least every six months. If your teeth are not cleaned properly when you are in braces you can develop white lesions on your teeth that may be permanent. These white lesions are the beginnings of tooth decay. I have seen many patients that have these white lesions even after they have had their braces removed. Home care is very important when you wear braces. You need to make sure you brush around all of the brackets and make sure all food debris is removed.

Tooth-colored fillings have several advantages: they look natural, and they actually bond to your teeth, providing a better seal to prevent further decay. If you have decay or want to improve your smile, natural-looking fillings may be a good choice for you.
Professional dental cleanings are important pillars of good oral health. Even patients who diligently follow their dentist’s brushing and flossing guidelines need to supplement their home care routines with regular office visits.
Patients should have their teeth cleaned and examined at least every six months. These semiannual cleanings, also referred to as prophylaxis, help to clear away any plaque and calculus, or tartar, that remain in the mouth despite regular brushing and flossing.
Whether you are in need of a dental crown, bridge, or veneer, we can accommodate your need for those here. They are a common type of dental restoration used to restore both the functionality and beauty of a damaged tooth. Dr. Stasny works hard to guarantee each case fits properly and looks natural with the rest of your smile.
Root canal treatment, often simply called a root canal, is a treatment that focuses on repairing damage and decay to the inner portion of your tooth, which holds your dental pulp, tooth nerves, and root canal system. This sensitive area, when exposed to decay, can easily become infected, causing severe pain and the eventual death of the tooth.
We offer 2 types of Tooth Whitening. We have our in-house which is a process that can be completed in as little as an hour and can whiten your smile by multiple shades. We also offer a “do it yourself at home” technique were we will create custom plastic trays to hold your whitening gel. You will wear these trays snugly over your teeth for a predetermined amount of time each day. With this process, you will have full control over how white your smile becomes in the convenience of your own home. Both whitening options are effective and safe.
Once it is determined that the implant has adhered itself to the bone, it is time to attach the implant abutment and crown. The completing step involves placing abutment on implant. The purpose of placing abutment on implant is to assist in holding the new crown in place. A single implant crown or a unit bridge is designed to look like natural teeth.
Dr. Stasny will always make saving and repairing your natural teeth our first priority. However, there may be some circumstances that necessitate the removal of a tooth from its place in your jawbone. This is called a tooth extraction. We offer both simple and surgical tooth extractions. He will only suggest a tooth extraction if he feels it is absolutely necessary to your overall oral health. We are also committed to ensuring you always feel confident about your smile, and we provide multiple cosmetic and restorative options for replacing the extracted tooth.
Dentures are removable prosthetic teeth that are ideal for replacing most or all of your smile. We offer many different types of dentures, including full dentures and partial dentures. Full dentures are used to replace all the teeth in your upper or lower dental arch, or both. On the other hand, partial dentures require some natural teeth to remain in your smile. Partial dentures often use a thin metal framework to help hold your denture in place. We are also able to provide dentures to fit over dental implants.
If you are concerned about Sleep Apnea, We can help you screen for it. We provide you with a home sleep apnea monitor. It is a simple monitor that tracks your oxygen levels and pulse while worn. It does not fully capture what is monitored with an overnight sleep study. Overnight sleep studies give a more thorough assessment of sleep issues.
